By applying on our website and submitting your details and/or using our service you accept this Privacy Policy. You provide specific consent for us to process and use your information as described below. You also provide us with your information voluntarily and you have the right to object to use of your personal information.

This might have an impact on the outcome of your loan as we are obligated by law to obtain certain information to process any loan applications.

We respect your privacy and will obtain your explicit consent for the following:

 

  • To process your personal information, as per NCR regulation to perform affordability and credit assessments.

     

  • To do a credit check with credit bureau/s

     

  • To contact your employer for employment confirmation.

 

With this consent you also agree that the information provided is correct and up to date and provided voluntarily by myself.

 

 

 

Protection of your information (security & Confidentiality)

 

Respect and Valuable is the words we use to describe the handling and processing of your information and will take reasonable safety and security safeguards to protect against misuse, loss or fraudulent alterations.

We store and process your information on our secured servers with built in multi layered firewalls and protection. We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to transmit sensitive/credit information, with limited pre-vetted and authorised special access to your information. This included our 3rd parties’ providers and payment gateways used and are also required to keep your information secure and confidential.  

 

All private information will be stored and kept on file (secure servers) for the time period required by the National Credit Act.

 

We also subject to all South African laws, including to mention a few, Companies Act 2008, all data protections laws, Protection of Personal Information Act 2013 and the Consumer Protection Act 2008.

NATURE AND CATEGORY OF THE PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

 

Personal information/data is information that relates or identifies to you specifically (Data Subject)

By voluntary providing us with your personal information, for example your name, identity number, income and payment records and credit records. Any information that we receive from you will be regarded as personal information.

 

SOURCE OF INFORMATION

We obtained your personal information from:

  • Direct from the data subject
  • From the Data subject spouse/partner with consent from data subject
  • Cookies from our website.

 

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

 

We use the information we collect about you to process a credit application.

The processing falls under the following lawful purpose stated under NCR regulations.

 

AUTOMATED DECISION MAKING

 

We do not use the information you provide to make any automated decisions that might affect you, as the automated pre-vetting credit score is not currently enabled.

WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DON’T COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION

 

Where we are unable to collect your information, we will enquire via email, telephonically, or per message if you are still interested in the credit application or not. You have the right to object or to refuse the use of your personal information. Depending on the information this it might have an impact on the loan application. We are required by the National Credit Act to process credit application only with required information from data subjects.

 

INFORMATION SHARING AND ACCESS

 

All personal information is stored securely, with reasonable precautions taken to ensure that there is no breach of confidentiality.  We will under no circumstances reveal this to any 3rd party without your written permission unless we are obliged to do so in terms of law. Some of your information is, however, shared with the following company:

 

  • 3rd party payment gateways and service providers
  • the National Credit Regulator for the purpose of compliance with the regulator

 

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

 

We keep the information we have in respect of the data subject for the purpose of processing credit applications for a period of three years in order to comply with legal record retention periods, as required by the National credit regulator.

 

We keep information in respect of credit applications for as long as you continue to be a client, and for a period of 3 years as per NCR act, after termination of this relationship, unless it is necessary to defend a legal claim.

Your rights

 

By law, you can ask us what information we hold about you, request to have access to it, and you can ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. Please ensure that you regularly keep us updated with your correct details. You are welcome to contact us at any time to review the information we have and ensure it is correct.

 

You also have the right to object to us processing your information. 

 

If you believe we are not using your information lawfully you can ask us to stop using it for a period of time or request its deletion.

 

Where we have obtained information from you based on your consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. We will honour this unless there is a valid reason not to, for example where we are obliged by law to hold records or make certain reports to any industry regulators.

 

Your right to complain

If you have a complaint about our use of your information, we prefer you to raise in with us in the first instance to give us the opportunity to address this.
